Matt Greenberg

Matt Greenberg received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, where he pursued a double major in English and Spanish/Portuguese. His academic distinctions include High Departmental Honors in English, Departmental Honors in Spanish/Portuguese, and induction into Sigma Delta Pi, the International Honor Society of Spanish.

Matt grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has studied and traveled in Guatemala, Mexico, and Cuba. He has had experience as a teacher's assistant, a substitute teacher, a youth counselor, and as a volunteer assisting Mexican nationals attain U.S. citizenship.

He now lives in San Francisco, where he works as a bilingual editor, writer, and translator of educational materials, including children's literature. He aided in rendering the English version of Mario Lamo's Dinosaur Giants of South America. In his work for Bilingual Voices, he specializes in literary translation from Spanish to English, as well as English-language copyediting.

Matt's other pursuits include photography--he considers himself a serious amateur--and music--to date he has released two albums as a member of a recording group. As he considers learning to be a life-long process, he also makes a hobby of taking classes for no other reason than sheer joy.
